Program Description

Event Details

Nino Tsereteli is a classically trained artist who works in a wide variety of media and techniques.  Most prominently, she uses oil and pastel.  Nino works en plein air, loosely interpreting the landscape around her in a spontaneous reaction to her environment.  She’s always in search of the most captivating angle and lighting in her composition, whether she is painting landscapes, still life, or working from a model.  Her work is extremely personal.  Occasionally intensive and rigid, it also becomes soft and gentle at other times.  “My goal is to capture experience, a look, a feeling, and a bit of mystery that will elicit an emotional response from
the viewer."

For the last twenty years, she has been living in the U.S. and her work has attained a lighter and softer hue, especially her portrait work completed in pastel.  Nino's portraits are created in free style and contain a pleasant gamut of colors.  Her portraits of children are true-to-life, riveting and enchanting.

Nino was many years experience of teaching art in different countries, including the US.  Nino’s works are in numerous private collections here and abroad.  Her works have been exhibited in various exhibitions.  Nino completed her fine art teacher education at Nikoladze Art College, Tbilisi, The Republic of Georgia.  She now lives in Madison, NJ.

The art on display is for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the library.

The opening reception is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  Everyone is invited to attend.
