Program Description

Event Details

Caspar David Friedrich was a leading figure of the German Romantic movement, known for his vast, mysterious, and atmospheric landscapes that explored the relationship between humanity and nature. He reimagined landscape painting by emphasizing the spiritual and emotional connections between the individual and the natural world. Mary Vahey will speak about Friedrich and the current exhibit at the Met, "Caspar David Friedrich: The Soul of Nature". It is the first comprehensive one dedicated to the artist in the United States. It features over 75 works by Friedrich, including oil paintings, drawings, and sketches. The exhibition is on view through May 11, 2025.

This program is graciously shared with us by our friends at the Kemmerer Library, Harding Township.

Registration is required to receive the Zoom information.
