Program Description

Event Details

The NJSave presentation provides information for seniors and individuals with disabilities on how to file a single application for assistance in paying for medicare premiums, prescription drug costs, hearing aid assistance, and living expenses such as utilities and food. Additional information is provided on how to save on driver's license fees and property taxes.

Registration is requested, but not required.

 

The speaker is a certified volunteer Medicare counselor in the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) for Morris County. SHIP is a nationwide program administered in New Jersey by the NJ Department of Human Services which also provides training for the SHIP volunteers. SHIP counselors do not provide legal advice, sell, recommend, or endorse any specific insurance product, agent, insurance company or plan or accept any compensation for their services. They provide information and assistance so that Medicare enrollees can make their own decisions based on their own individual circumstances. Morris County SHIP is a program of Norwescap, a non-profit agency dedicated to helping the community.
