Co-sponsored by Chatham Historical Society and Chatham Township Historical Society.

Thomas W Lee will be with us at the library to talk about his book The Chatham Patriot. Researching the history of his daughter’s home and property on Washington Avenue in Chatham, he got the idea to weave a fictional story around the actual events in Chatham during the American Revolution.

The main character is a 17 year old who joins the Chatham Militia, becomes a spy for Washington, works for Shepherd Kollock on The Jersey Journal and eventually leads  a command under Alexander Hamilton at the Battle of Yorktown. He returns home to marry his boyhood sweetheart. Although targeted for middle school and high school readers, The Chatham Patriot has drawn very positive reviews from all corners.

Co-hosted by Chatham Historical Society and Chatham Township Historical Society, attendees will also see an insiders' view of local history research and have the opportunity to learn from Society members what resources are available to anyone interested in The Chathams.

This is a hybrid event, in person and on Zoom. You must register for the event to receive the Zoom link.
