Create a watercolor painting of solar eclipse with local art teacher Philla Barkhorn.
In this class students will be introduced to some basic watercolor techniques: variegated wash, masking the lights, creating clouds, and color mixing. Special attention will be paid to edge quality, creating a mix of hard and soft edges to illustrate the contrasts found in nature. Using a limited palette, students will learn how to manipulate their color mixtures to describe the subtle nuances in the sky. Difficulty level: intermediate.
Participants will be provided with all the necessary materials - and a pair of free eclipse glasses!
Class limit 12, registration is required. Please note that this class is for adults only.
