Event Details

Chinese New Year 2022 falls on Tuesday, February 1 and celebrations culminate on Tuesday, February 15 with the Yuan Xiao (元宵节 / yuán xiāo jié), or Lantern Festival. In collaboration with the Chatham Chinese Association, the School District of the Chathams, and with support from the newly formed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Committee of Chatham, the library invites you to celebrate Chinese New Year 2022, the Year of the Tiger!  The celebration will take place virtually via Zoom, presented by students from the Chatham School District. We will explore Chinese New Year traditions, presented in English as well as in Chinese with English subtitles.  The program will feature music, dancing, and a fashion show!  All who register in advance will be automatically entered into a Red Envelope raffle for a chance to win prizes.  Happy Chinese New Year and good luck!  All ages welcome.
