Author David Krell will speak about his book, 1962: Baseball and America in the Time of JFK, and discuss how events and people came together to reshape baseball like it never had before. It was a year of great wins with the Yankees earning their 20th World Series title over the San Francisco Giants, and a year of great losses for the newly established New York Mets who lost 120 games, and therefore became the worst team since 1900.  Besides baseball, the author reflects upon the current events of the time including John Glenn becoming the first American to orbit the earth, and JFK's confrontation with Russia during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

David Krell, a native of Springfield, NJ, is a regular speaker at the annual Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture, Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention, and Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) conferences. He chairs SABR's Elysian Fields chapter, which covers the Northern New Jersey region.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
