Event Details
This presentation provides information about the Storm King Art Center exhibits that are currently on display. Feel prepared to know what to expect before visiting in person. Often overlooked as a significant opportunity to view large-scale contemporary sculpture in the landscape, Storm King Art Center uniquely provides the visitor with unexpected artistic interventions throughout its 500 acres. In addition to looking closely at two special installations by American artists Louise Bourgeois and Sarah Sze, this lecture will highlight ways to get the most out of your visit to maximize your enjoyment for a special day trip.
Anne Swartz is an art historian who focuses on contemporary American art. She is a Professor of Art History at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She holds degrees from The University of the South, Vanderbilt University, and Case Western Reserve University. In addition to authoring numerous exhibition catalogues, essays, and reviews and lecturing widely on contemporary art, she’s received several fellowships and awards, including a Fulbright Scholar Fellowship to Japan in 2002-03.
