Stars is a show that displays two distinct collections: the Star Wars series and the Rock Star collection. These bodies of work are not only a testament to my artistic journey but also a reflection of the deep personal connections I have with both themes. The Star Wars collection merges my love for the iconic franchise with a unique painting style inspired by an unexpected moment—a rainy cell phone photo. The way light and water blurred the images in that photo shaped my artistic approach, creating distorted, dreamlike visuals reminiscent of faded memories. Water, often seen as a metaphor for reflection, became central to these works. Through these paintings, I have captured the nostalgia and escapism Star Wars offered me during a difficult childhood, transforming those memories into visual reflections.  The Rock Star collection began with a painting of Prince, a request from my wife, but quickly evolved into something much larger. Moving away from my usual caricatures, these pieces are more lifelike, capturing defining moments and characteristics of legendary musicians. Each painting grew in size, presenting new challenges not just in the technique but in finding the perfect moment to depict—the one that truly embodies the essence of the star. This collection became an exploration of both scale and spirit, offering a deeper, more intimate portrayal of rock icons.

The art on display is for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the library.

The opening reception is sponsored by Friends of the Library.  Everyone is invited to attend.
