An Evening with Celebrity Chef Leia Gaccione

Come hear first-hand from Leia Gaccione about her life as a chef in the male-dominated restaurant industry.  Inspired at a young age to become a chef, Leia has the drive, ambition, and creativity necessary to be a success in this very competitive industry.  She has appeared on "Iron Chef America,” "Beat Bobby Flay,” “Iron Chef Showdown,” “Chopped”, "Top Chef Houston" and is the host of the documentary film “Her Name Is Chef.”  Leia had a seven-year tenure as Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine for Bobby Flay at five of his fine dining restaurants.   Leia opened south+pine, a local foodie destination, in Morristown in 2015 where she is currently the Owner and Executive Chef. 

Leia will share her life’s passion and journey with you and would love to engage with anyone who has questions about her career or the restaurant industry in general.  She is also happy to share with you how she got creative during the early days of COVID to stay afloat.  Light snacks from south+pine will be served.
