Self-portraits can be traced back to ancient times, though they became most prevalent in the early Renaissance period. This lecture explores several famous artists’ self-portraits as we learn, and consider: What does an artist’s self-portrait say about the time they lived in, the style they painted in, and, most importantly, how they viewed themselves?
Mallory Mortillaro serves as the Curator of Collections for the Hartley Dodge Foundation in Madison, N.J. In addition, Mallory is an art historian and educator. She has ten years of teaching experience and has worked on various art research projects for museums and organizations in the New York metropolitan area.
Registration is required to receive the Zoom information.
