Based on the ideas in his bestselling book "Get to the Point!," Joel's interactive workshop demonstrates what a point is, how to sharpen it, and how to champion it regardless of your field, background, or audience, including actionable insight on making your words matter in presentations, conversations, and meetings.
Many professionals—from salespeople and scientists to CEOs—deliver speeches and presentations but fail to make impactful points. Do they miss the mark because they're "bad public speakers"? No. Presenters fail when they don’t have points or confuse actual points with topics, themes, definitions, observations, and catchphrases. Not having a real point renders them pointless, which is the biggest cause of rambling and audience disengagement.
