Professor Ian Drake of Montclair State University will explain the historical reasons behind our two-party system and consider the arguments for and against it. He will discuss often debated questions such as: Why does the United States have such a long-standing two-party system? Is this healthy for a democracy? Should we have a multiparty system at the national level?
