Using the Java programming language, this course will build upon previous programming knowledge, exposing students to loops, data structures, writing to a file, class structure, and more. This course requires some previous background in Python or Java, but there will be a brief review of Java syntax and logic in the first session. The coding in this course is done on an online IDE, replit, which requires a Google account to create an account.

Dates & times: Mondays from January 9 through February 20 (7 weeks), 5:30-6:30 pm

Grade levels: 6th - 8th

Class size: 15 students

Prior knowledge needed: Students should be familiar with basic Python/Java.

Equipment needed: Students should bring their own laptops. The school-supplied Chromebooks work fine for this course. If needed, the library has a few laptops available for use - you must call the library to request one. A Google account is also required to create a replit account.
